[Sleepy Time]
I had some weird vertigo this morning. It threw off my whole day. I'm not sure what caused it, but I had it last night, too. Starting to wonder if I forgot to take my seizure medication, so I've been extra careful in making sure I take it right when my phone chimes.
Anyway, I wasn't actually sure if I'd have anything to post today, because I didn't get to get that much work done at all today. But, I wound up getting the urge to draw a nice calming sketch to help relax. I've been kinda tired all day, but relaxing doesn't always come naturally to me.
I already knew who I wanted to draw. The characters don't really make much sense together, but they're thematically similar, and have a nice personality contrast.
The characters aren't even from the same series, actually... the one on the right is Arble (from, well... "Arble☆"), and the one on the left is Nicole from "Celestial Guardians".
Nicole is pretty rigid, so even if she dozed off for a nap, she wouldn't lean back much. Arble is always really lose, so he doesn't have much qualms with getting cozy.
I added in the limbs and a few little details. Nicole props herself up on her own limbs, so if she dozed off into sound enough sleep and started to fall over, she'd wake up. Even when she's dozing, she's kind of alert.
Arble is probably already zonked out pretty well, he doesn't even notice his ear is a little pinned down. His tail wraps around just for that typical way cats have them when they sleep.
Added in more details, and defined the clothing. Nicole's shoes are always a pain... granted, I'm not sure where I put her character sheet, so I didn't have a reference. When I was detailing her arm, for a minute I was scared I couldn't remember what her sleeves were supposed to look like. But I remembered quick enough after thinking about her metalic theme.
Cleaned up some of the guidelines and added in Arble's tattoo. Tried to show Nicole's metalic hands, though the sketch was a little small to show it well.
Added some bubbles and effects. I thought about filling in the dark areas (they both have black hair and black-and-white outfits), though I decided to leave it as it was, in case I decided to ink it digitally later on. That way the lines would be easier to see, and the details could be better refined. If I do ink it, the inked version will probably be a bit bigger.
I have no idea how these two would wind up sleeping propped up against each other. Arble is a nice enough guy, though his personality is fairly opposite to Nicole's, so I can't help but think they wouldn't get along well, or at best wouldn't really think much of each other.
Maybe they just ran into each other, and were both waiting on something in a certain area. After waiting for several hours, they just fell asleep from sheer boredom.
Idk, maybe I'll write a little drabble about it if I'm not able to do much again soon.
