Will robots take over your world?
I have a little confession, it’s not something that I tell a lot of people, but I think I can trust you. Ever since I watched Tobor the Great, a science fiction film from 1954 about a robot, I have had a little place in my heart for tin robots.
Great 1950’s robots include:
Tobor, features in Tobor the Great,1954. And also the TV-series Captain Video and His Video Rangers, 1949-1954. Tobor is robot spelt backwards. If you have the money you can by a 1:1 scale ‘celebrity robot’ from http://www.the-robotman.com/, you could buy your own Tobor.

I have started on my own robot mural, partially inspired by theses little guys that I photographed in a shop in France. They look like an army of misfit robots!

So far I have applied the base colours to ‘Tobor’s friends’. It still has many more layers to go until it is finished and each robots personality is developed. Will they be good or bad robots? Will they take over your job? Will they take over the world?

I'm lost for words on this one!
Oh i love retro robots..except cybermen ..they still scare me so much I was nearly in tears when the kids wanted us all to pose next to one for a picture at the Dr Who exhibit.
Scared the stuffing out of me too. All the monsters in Doctor Who scared me.
I dont want them to take over as thoughts of Terminator would keep me up but the odd house cleaner would be nice as long as I kept a hold of the off switch

Those are scary robot movies. I personally love The Iron Giant. In fact, @opheliafu, the last two posts featuring your robots has made me want to go rent it again. LOL
Robots are for sure going to take over a lot of things, just look at the self driving cars! I really don't think I would feel comfortable not having control of my own vehicle, but if I could get a robot that cooks and cleans, then sign me up !! :)
You get robot floor cleaners, one of those would be lovely.
Well I m not too sure if it's gonna be Tobor, but I am confident that we will be replaced in the future :) Great work as always opheliafu!

They are cool, all i need is $20,000+ and I can get my own life size model.
it's not a bipedal robot. my favorite is mike, in a novel called the moon is a harsh mistress by robert heinlein. if you want to see the progression of reality, try youtube and search: tay ai, it is kind of freaky.

You could get some of these guys to help out with your art work! Crypto might have to go Ninja on them if they get out of hand though.
What is up with that guy with the stick? They need to reprogram the robot to fight back.
Hope an advanced ai robot doesn't see that bullying video, what an asshole
