The Black Shore
I stand on the pebbles
Looking out towards the black shore
A thick metallic smell
The petrichor emanating
As clouds sweep in
Over crimson hills
One solitary figure stands
Ready to endure the storms alone

Thank you, this style of work has a very different feel to it than my usual drawing and painting style. I think they work well with my poetry though.

Acrylic Paint? Is this quite painty?
Yes.
There are a few application techniques involved in this one though- rolling, smearing (mainly black and red areas) and brush application. Finer details like the trees added once acrylic has dried.

It is a wonderful smell, like old pennies I think- but maybe it smells differently to others.
I never thought of it as metallic but you're right, it smells like copper. That nails it perfectly.
