Delicately dirty
Dirtying the paper delicately.
“All art is but dirtying the paper delicately.”
― John Ruskin
In the comments section of my post Broken and bare branches yesterday @ugetfunded shared a quote by John Ruskin, it reminded me of a drawing I had made recently of a tree in the woods using a piece of charred wood I had found on the ground near the tree.
Because of the nature of this charcoal material the drawing was very faint and the roughness of the charred wood determined the style of the lines, so I had to learn the idiosyncrasies of the medium and work with it. In a way I was ''dirtying the paper delicately.”
Hi @opheliafu, Another great post. Will you teach me teach me dirty drawing delicately? :D
Thank you for the inspiration @ugetfunded. May have to put pass on that particular drawing lesson !
Hahaha. Sorry @opheliafu, that was mistyped deliberately ;). As a fan of your creativity, I was just trying to be creative like you. :p I think it backfired. :D
It made me chuckle!
Oh I see. I found it:
Nice innovation! Excited for your workshop at STEEMFest!
you have a lot of reason "All art is nothing but dirty the paper with delicacy". but not anyone can dirty the paper delicately, only those like you who eredan the gift in their hands. congratulations for the gift you have.
beautiful s imagenes dear friend @opheliafu.
I wish you a beautiful day
You are too kind @jlufer, thank you for your words of support.
What a nice post - and lovely to see how creative your mind is.
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it.
I have always marveled at how the pristine white of what isn’t drawn composes, or gives place to what is.
There is art everywhere and you prove it. Good for you. You just won another fan and follower. I will be glad if such artist like you follow me. Keep up with your good work.
I don't think I'll ever stop finding nature so inspiring, Thank you.
@opheliafu
You see art in every thing around you. One can never understand the heartbeat of an artist except you are one. Though I am not one, by reading your works, I have been able, just a tiny bit to understand how passionate your heart beats for the art.
My heart definitely does beat that way!
When I dirty the paper, it is not so delicate. My paper gets dirty like a rugby match.
haha, i'm not usually this delicate either!
good art
This has just taught me that dirty isn't always ugly, it can be beautiful sometimes. Thank you for this valuable lesson, and the beautiful pictures
Thank you, glad it had an impact.
