Autumn Woods
A golden path
As Autumn tinted the leaves with her brush, colours spread across the trees. Golden hues danced across the woodland canopy like dappled light shining through the darkness. The illuminations of autumn are here, a carpet of gold and orange shows us the way.
Masking fluid is painted on watercolour paper to mark out the trunks of the trees. Once the mask is dry layers of watercolour is added in yellow, orange and red hues.
Once the initial layers of watercolour are dry the mask is removed and finer details and darker tones are added using watercolour.

This is absolutely gorgeous work @opheliafu!!! We are experiencing Autumn here in New England as we speak. You have mastered putting this beautiful time of year into art. Just went out "leaf peeping" on Saturday and posted a few pics here. I love watching the transition over these few weeks until the leaves fall from the trees..there is lot's of green, dotted with red and orange right now....thank you for your work in showcasing my fave time of year!!!!

Beautiful. I bought a masking fluid several months ago but hardly use it. Maybe I should now...your post gives me some ideas on what to do with it. Thanks!
Have a little practice with it first - it can be a little tricky when it come to remove it.
