The stockings are ready to be hung, the mince pies are in the oven and the sherry is ready to be poured. Everything is ready for the arrival of Santa. In the garden there is a flutter of excitement and anticipation. Nest boxes have been tidied, new pyjamas are laid out for bedtime and the Christmas lights are sparkling from every branch.
