Comic Book Preparations & TBC Entry in One - character study #7
So, last week I was using the Trial By Comics theme as a good way to get creative while taking a break from my comic book prep. It was nice to find some new inspiration and draw something "just for fun" after having my nose stuffed in my sketchbooks working and reworking things from my old comic. However, when I sat that this week's theme is "Character Design" I was pretty stoked to be able to kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak. I've been working on designing new characters for my comic, and this has provided me with extra ambition to get the next one done. It also gave me the nudge to sketch a little more, so I decided to draw a bunch of expressions, to hopefully give people a better feel for the character.
This is Skye, a "goodie" air elemental. I wrote a few notes about her on the design page, but I'll type them here, in case it's too small/illegible.
BoHo, "sunshiney", festival chick
(She's a bohemian, free-spirit, always looks on the bright side of life, everything is sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows, loves music festivals like Coachella)
Millennial pink/opal hair color, high contour/highlight makeup
(She also has a pierced septum, an industrial ear piercing on the left side, 3 piercings/lobe, and a minimalist poppy tattoo on her left thigh)
True romantic - good & love above all else
Adorable & sweet - sometimes sickeningly so - comes across as naïve/airhead

You are such an amazing artist. I will tell you what I liked the most in your sketch- first one is the tatoo. Its beautifully done by you, second is the Neck band. Neck band is giving such a casual look and you have drawn it to the perfection. Third one is the nose ring. I liked it very much. Well done.
