Chaos and Tranquility - Mixed Media Artworks by Italian Artist Sabrina Garrasi

in #art7 years ago

Control is something that I feel is an illusion, if we don't accept this it can often stifle us as creatives and make our work very rigid when it comes to experimentation. I think this applies to all facets of art and design. That's why I was intrigued by these artworks by Sabrina Garrasi, a talented artist based in Pesaro, Italy.

She uses the unpredictability in the paints to create her art, watering them down to make flow in to one another and mix, often having very little control over the final outcome. Since Sabrina works in collaboration with nature to create such art they are truly one of a kind and very impressive on the eye.

Even though there is this sense of chaos there is also a calmness in the work that's probably due to her setting the confined areas on a canvas. For example the abstract piece below, each layer has small elements of unpredictability that are placed inside controlled boxes. It's an interesting concept and one that I would like to experiment with myself in the future. I hope you like these and will view more on her portfolio linked underneath, she is very skilled indeed.
