Raven Paintings

A while back I posted about Amanda's paintings that she whipped up for a Edgar Allan Poe exhibit. I should have some updates by tomorrow on how that went, being that the exhibit is tonight. You can review that post here.

After she submitted those paintings to the gallery, she was inspired to refine the style that she was developing, and decided to paint a couple more ravens. I actually like these better than the originals!

She has kept the looseness of the style, but has also added a few highlights which I think make a lot of difference.

She has been enjoying painting the ravens I think, because for a while she just couldn't decide what to paint, so the competition kind of made the decision for her.

I think that one of the hardest things about being creative is trying to figure out what the hell it is that you want to do.

The old blank canvas syndrome. Writing posts on Steem, this problem presents itself quite often. It even happens to me with software development. I also end up doing a lot of sound design for work projects and run into the same problem.

I guess you have to set some limitations on yourself and great things can happen!
