This is my entry to Jenny's Art Contest, Week 13 with the theme Natural.
I was planning to draw something outdoors- or fruit/veggie-related but the thought suddenly occurred to me. Natural is a very broad term.
I think this is more fitting to the theme because all of us are participating doing what is natural to us; the talents we were born with and made better and better with practice.
The idea of drawing a potter was a sudden brain wave; no particular story. :)
Process:
Made with ArtRage Lite tools:
- Paint Roller
- Ink Pen
- Watercolor Brush
- Air Brush
I. Covered background with grey paint roller and outlined subject with ink pen in black
II. Filled in basic colors with watercolor brush
III. More filling and added mug and bowl so it's clear she's making pottery, haha
IV. Adding detail (face, hands, hair strands, etc) with ink pen
V. Used airbrush to add shadows to skin.. then later erased as not liking the effect
VI. Added more detail (smudge to the face) with watercolor brush for shadows, and ink pen for finer detail
VII. Added background stuff like blue prints of mug designs with ink pen; added light source using air brush
VIII. Making light source stronger by using darker yellow, still using air brush
IX. Looking complete but needing some more...
X. ...shadows which are added to the pants, lower part of tank top and materials on her side shelf
All done! Had a snack after... :)

Ako din at first, grabe, di ko maintindihan yung mga tools. Pero sa umpisa lang yun. Super fun na sya once you get the hang of it. Then again, baka matulad ka sakin at i-forsake na ang traditional art entirely dahil may digi na. hahaha. Thank you for dropping by, @nessyquel!
mahilig akong sumubok ng ibat ibang medium kasi parang hanggang ngayon di ko pa din alam saan ako mas comfortable so one day for sure itry-try ko yan haha pwede din palang malaman ano gamit mong tools ?
Gamit ko yung WACOM tablet ni @jacinta.sevilla. Hahahaha. May free software na sya kasama, ArtRage Lite Ito lang gamit ko. Always the same tools too: Paint roller for background color; ink pen for outline and defining lines; watercolor brush for "painting" the objects in the frame; airbrush for shadows and highlights.
Maganda mag experiment, but I know a lot of artists who are good at many many different kinds of media. You already have the skills, go go go lang. :D
wow :D intuos siya or bamboo ? buti pa ikaw may kapatid na mahilig din sa art, mahal magivest ng gamit kapag walang share kaya wala akong mahiraman haha ;-; ganda nga ng pagkakagawa mo girl :) lalo yung sa ilaw saka highligths niya :)
dyan ako mahilig maexperiment pero magastos lang kasi minsan after di mo na magagamit yung mga tools. pero nakakaispired pa din :D

Madami kasing tools pag digital and no need to worry if u get it wrong sobrang madali mag erase di tulad ng totoong paint. Hahaha
Kung di nanalo ng tablet sis ko, bibili parin sana ako. It's worth it!
yung andami mong gustong bilin minsan maiiyak ka nalang kasi walang pambili haha ;-; wow galing naman ni jacinta saka ikaw din girl super creative ka it shows on your work and post,nakita ko nga nanalo ka sa drawing challenge na floating market :) congrats girl ! :)
saka tama ka masarap din sa feeling na nakikita mo at nagagamit mo yung mga napundar at naipon mong tools :) sarap sana gamitin yung wacom cintiq kung hindi lang siya 100k+ ;-;
Thank you! Wow, ganun na kamahal ang ibang model ng drawing tab? I think 4k lang itong gamit ko. Hehehehe. Start small lang, if ever makaipon in the future, dun na bumili ng mas sophisticated. Hehe. So far, okay naman, pang practice. Very decent naman itong maliit na tab. Maghahanap ako ng additional software para mahasa ako.
