Cafe + Coffee
The process that I use that has allowed me to improve my drawing skills is creating from a reference in real time. I remember the first time I felt okay with doing this practice. I was sitting in the passenger seat of my friends truck, in a small town in California. We were parked out front of a cafe and there was a bunch of travellers congregating, going about their way, drinking their coffee and socialising. I was feeling a little overwhelmed from the caffeine so I quietly took to drawing. With no real source of inspiration I decided to draw the people in front of me. Although my little characters didn't reflect exact likeness, they still held the essence of the individuals. It was the first time I didn't let my mind over analyse what I was trying to capture. It really taught me observation and how to translate the spirit of what I viewed into the lines I would create. I also drew in pen and this really pushed that each line was permanent so I either had to make it intentional or let it flow without expectation. It's a beautiful practice and one I thoroughly enjoy. Anyone who is close to me has at one point been recreated into a caricature and I am grateful to have moments where I can so closely recognise the small subtleties that often go unnoticed.

I like your story. Could you please show us some of your drawings. You must be a very good artist.
I plan to share more art posts for sure. Thanks for stopping by! ~
hey..neeki..nice to see you dear your post so good....thank you so for sharing dear.
Thanks @afrinsultana. :)
welcome..dear...
Nice share again @neeqi ,The only time that I've ever had any success at any kind of drawing has been with contour drawing. Is it the same kind of gazing ?
I haven't tried steepshot yet, how was it to use?
Keep em coming :)
Peace.
Contour drawing? Like with a continuous line?? I've never actually tried this but I really admire artists who can create this. I'm not really sure why it is something that I've never tried. I'd imagine it's similar. I mean just any process where you are really looking at your subject and noticing the movements and how everything interconnects with everything else.
Also I only have steepshot on pc. Waiting for the iphone app so I can use it like instagram. I was always a big user of instagram but I have completely dropped it for steemit and dtube (my one true loves!) It's been good so far though, sometimes I just like to post a single photo instead of doing up a blog post or video. I'm glad you enjoy!
For some reason I think I remember that small town and truck you are referring to :)
It was a pretty special time!
I agree with the first comment- you must be a very good artist. The love for drawing shows in every word of this post:)
Just an idea - what about drawing caricatures of some Steemit members?:)
Thanks @inspiranka! I am definitely working on developing my skills. I have actually drawn quiet a few members from the dtubedaily group but I do enjoy creating caricatures. I actually have an idea based around this for my next video.
I've seen the video. Great idea!:)
