Portraits in Pastel or Pencil series- Bob Marley

I found this quick portrait/sketch in one of my old song books.
Robert Nesta Marley had been such a powerful source of inspiration for me in my twenties.
His sense of mission, lyrical wisdom, catchy melodies, his cool, his skank, his spunk and his magnetic energy really made such a big impression upon me.

I rarely draw people’s faces with hair around as I find hair can distract from seeing what lies in the face, but, hey, it’s Bob! He’s iconic! So...

And what a happy, wise face he had!

I discovered with drawing this pic that writing words with a crayon is really quite difficult. It's no wonder children's writing looks so bad! Lol!
