Emotion is energy in motion. A very powerful energy that we experience all day every day. Without mindfulness and meditation (I prefer Holy Spirit Meditation) we can be thrown back and forth by the motions of these energies and act out in destructive ways. Emotions are a blessing and great tool for understanding yourself and environment. However, if you do not recognize and analyze with honesty why you feel the way you do, you are at risk of being manipulated by them. Think about who is pulling your strings. Everyday we are bombarded by advertising, media and propaganda designed to activate your emotions and to control your actions. 

Being conscious and mindful is not absent of emotions like fear, anger, happiness or joy. You shouldn't try to suppress this energy but direct it in the proper direction. The proper direction is always love. You should have a righteous anger for any injustice or evil. But if you respond with your own form of injustice and evil you become what you are fighting against. No you do not fight fire with fire. You fight fire with water. You don't fight intolerance and ignorance with your own form of intolerance and willful ignorance. Evil only wants to propagate more evil. Good only wants to propagate more good. We don't need a revolution. At the end of one revolution you end up right back to where you started. Revolution is not change. We need an evolution. Evolve to a higher level of consciousness and right action. 

Simply walk off the plantation of slavery, don't participate, in mind if not in body. But hey, it is an ongoing process, we all should be learning and growing everyday. Let's outgrow the toddler mentality of selfishness and shortsightedness. Give each other a break, a benefit of doubt, and a little forgiveness. We ain't perfect, but we are all we got. So have your fun, the drama is interesting, but all these politic tricks and media frenzies are b.s. distractions from that one truth. Love is the only truth, the way, and constant.
