women a-muse themselves
I was discussing about the gender of muses in painting "I found quite interesting that most of the subject matter in women painters are often themselves while men use most of the time a woman muse... "..... any thoughts.....
like the famous surrealist women painters, Leonor Fini, Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington without speaking of Frida Kahlo.
One of my friends had that wonderful answer: "women a-muse themselves" This should be the title of a book about women painters.

Indeed!!! thanks to the homosexual community for representing male in paintings. Otherwise, beside portrait we don't have a lot. The question stays open women are also more inspired by themselves. Thanks for the compliment!
