Trip through the supply store
Small trip to my favourit artsupply store
I live in a very suburban neighbourhood close to a big german city, and even tho i would love to pack my things and leave, rather today then tomorrow to become an offgridartist, i have to admit there are really positives sides of living in a suburban area.
-The name of the store is Boesner and they have 44 stores all over europe. Mine is in Frankfurt am main, which is also the bankcapitol of germany. One of the things are that i can drive 20min and i am at my favourit art supply store.
I know i could order everything online but io am oldfashioned, i like to see and feel the things before i buy them. And today i had an even better excuse, i had a 30%discount voucher. The store is 3000qm² big (32291 ft²), over 2 storages. Here are some impressions.
-After the entrance there is this small area where you can get all sorts of new trends and crafting supplies. Including stickers and postcards
-The brush aisle, there are not the cheapest but they have really good quality. and you can find anything, from very large brushes to really tiny ones. I don´t buy much brushes there because i like to cut them to the size that i want. And for this normal brushes from the dollarstore will do.
-The green ones are my favourit for blending, supersoft hair
-From small to big, every size is possible
-there is every possibility for paper, sketchbooks etc.
-Hahnemühle is my favourit brand when it comes to aquarellpaper, the heavier ones can easily be used for acrylics or oil aswell
-Aquarelle from the company Schmincke, they are highly pigmented and awesome to work with. For Acrylics i often go for the housebrand of Boesner, they are a good quality for a good price. And i don`t know why, but their smell is not bad.
-My newest tryouts, watersoluble oilcolours. Personally i don`t like to work with normal oil colours because they smell quiet bad, and it`s hard to clean brushes without terpentine.
