I think this is a very good approach and I've been meaning to do this myself with some products that I would just like to draw/paint anyway as an exercise and for the sheer joy of it. Then if something comes of it, so be it :-)
@tishyaoedit It's actually liberating to do what you want to be getting. It's always the rule fake it until you make it also!
