Help Solve A Mystery!

I've been working on this story for a while, but none of the characters will admit to eating the apple. I'm stuck. Who bit the apple? Was it Sam the spider, Gloria the butterfly, or Tara the grasshopper? I have to know so I can wrap it up and get it submitted.
