Edgar Degas recalled that Rodin in the relations of some of his models covered a real erotic obsession. Once Degas, concerned about his friend's quick temper, recommended Rodin two lesbian dancers from the Opera theater. Rodin asked them to pose for several sketches of loving longing. But even here, as they say, could not resist embracing the dancers is not very chaste.
The artist is a slave or, if you will, a knight of his lady, his model. And it's useless and unnecessary to hide.
