Turtles all the way down!! Gallery of turtles (Almost time to paint some more)
This painting (above) lives on the eastern end of Canada, in New Brunswick. I painted it shortly after I had painted this one:
This beauty lives on the opposite end of Canada, on the BC Coast. It all started with my love of SCUBA. I first did this drawing (below) to get a better understanding of what I would be painting:
Not too long ago, I did this commissioned piece (below). It is called Turtles all the way Down and the gentlemen requesting it asked to have a Ridley Sea Turtle in it, after I showed him my preliminary sketch. I put a different type of turtle, from large on the bottom, to the smaller varieties on top.
From bottom to top: Leatherback, Green Sea, Loggerhead, Hawks-bill, Ridley, Snapping, Red Eared Slider, Western Painted, the Wood Turtle and the Ornate Box Turtle!
I made the mistake of not taking a very good picture of it, though. It cost me an opportunity to produce board wraps. I am planning on getting a better camera in the future so that I can have top-quality prints of all my work!

I didn't "doll it up" too much but I am using some of the tricks you shared :)
I love the style of the turtle paintings. Neat story how they are on opposite sides of the country.
