Lynx canadensis of the cat family Felidae, ranges across Canada and into Alaska as well as some parts of the northern United States, down the Rocky Mountains.
The Canadian lynx is slightly larger than the bobcat and is currently considered one of 4 different genus' of lynx, though some would contest this.
This versatile nocturnal mammal can be seen active during the daytime hours as well. With a preference for snowshoe hares, this predator establishes a home range and will hunt moles, ducks, squirrels when they cannot find their favorite meal. They can swim, though they only hunt on land and they are excellent climbers.
I have seen a couple of these beauties while living in the mountains...I am very lucky to live so close to nature <3

What would make it even better are some shines and glossy on eyes and nose.
