Step by step sketching of Bilbo-Baggins
Hi great steemians, happy weekend to everyone here.
Today, I have decided again to do something unique and quite interesting.
Remembered the famous Bilbo-Baggins of the Lord of the Rings? I guess so. I love everything about him and today I have decided to have a little sketch of him as I looked from a reference picture and also from my own imagination of his appearance.
Salvador Dali once said that
" drawing is the honesty of the art.
There is no possibility of cheating.
It is either good or bad".
This is actually what I believed on. It's often challenging trying much to be a good artist for all beginners but the time spent worth the gain.
Let's have a little guide on how to draw the famous Bilbo-Baggins of the Lord of the Rings.
Here I used HB pencil, 4B, a charcoal, 6B, 8B pencil and a cotton wool to dress up the charcoal I use during the drawing to suit my preference.
This is how the drawing looks after all the steps.
So below are the respective steps I used to arrive at my final result.
Step 1
Use your HB pencil and make a circle in an oval shape.
Step 2
Make a line to bisect the circle you drew in step 1 so as to make the facial features well balanced as I have shown.
Step 3
Now draw the Cresent lines lightly to represent the head.
Step 4
Now make a line across to represent the eyebrow, eyes, nose, mouth and pipe stem and label them a, b, c, d, and e respectively as I have shown.
Step 5
Now with the guidelines from step 4, draw the eyebrows, eyes and bridge of the nose.
Step 6
Now watch closely to my own drawing in this step, add up the wrinkles in his forehead, nose and his smile line.
Step 7
Now the next is to watch closely to your drawing of Bilbo-Baggins and draw up his mouth and pipe stem.
Step 8
Add up the curls in his hair. Your reference image matters to what you want but take up mine as your guide and draw up the curls in his hair just as I have shown, you will definitely be at the right part.
Step 9
What you actually have to do here is just to gradually erase all your guidelines and use your 4B pencil to make your drawing more visible.
Check out my own.
Step 10
This step is quite a bit complicated because your shading is important to getting the right image of what you drawing.
Here, I actually used both charcoal and the darker pencils to get exactly what I want.
But you can be taking my own as your reference image here and with your 6B pencil and also your cotton wool, you will much do yours as Mine.
Step 11
This is my final step and below is the outcome of it.
You can observe much that this is Bilbo-Baggins of Lord of the Rings we both know.
Achieving this actually gave me tough time but trust me with more time giving to the shading part of your work, you will do much better.
This is just a little guide of our drawing of Bilbo-Baggins and I hope you find it cool for your upvote and suggestions.
