''Daydreaming''
Oil paint on panel
20 x 25 cm
Painted with limited palett + ultramarine blue.
If it is one thing I have always been fascinated by is the state of daydreaming. I've always been a big daydreamer myself and can sometimes fall, a little too easily into that state of mind.
I painted this painting a couple of years back for a solo show I had in Norway. The painting was purchased by my first mentor, a man that always cheered me on and who encouraged me from the age of 14 to dedicate myself to the studies of fine art. About six months ago he sadly passed away, way too young from cancer. It all happened so fast. I was in Portugal and was planning on meeting him when I came home to Norway for Christmas. Then, I got the news he had passed away. He had only let the people closest to him know he was sick, he didn't want to burden anyone elese with the fact.
Whenever I look at the photo of this painting I am reminded of him. It was the last painting that he bought and I remember us having the conversation of how important it is to daydream. To let your mind wonder, to let it take you places and worlds where you can find so much inspiration and comfort.
I've lately been toying with painting a series of work with the theme of ''Daydreaming''. I think he would like that... :)
Wow, this one is truly amazing .

Sorry, not much voting power yet. Hope will figure out how this platform works soon to be able to normally support people.
And.. maybe learn how to draw at the same time hoho. Even though people might run away with fear from my works of art :D
That's an expressive portrait. It has more weight to because of the personal story.
