My entry for steemmonsters art contest-digital art in paint tool sai

this is my entry for the art contest by steemmonsters.
i found the post today and i wanted to take part in it, so i started making a digital art.
normally i always make pencil arts so i don't have much knowledge about color, so even if a make any digital art nowadays i make them in black and white.

then i try to add an extra layer of color.

here's the black and white version of my monster:

i took concept from the stone golem of steemmonsters game to make a stoney look on my monster's face.

this is painted on pain tool sai and a wacom intous tablet.
here are some screenshots of the layers:

i started with basic sketching:

then i painted with grey, then i kept adding more darkness or lightness

i added some of those antena thingy on a different layer to make it look better

then i added some shading on the layers, because totally white wasn't looking good.

i wanted to erase the sketch layer, but for some reason, to me, it looked better with the sketch layer on.
