🔹 MY ART - watercolored gem - process
Hello friends, I made a small painting for today. I wanted something different then portraits or flowers, so the first thing came to my mind was a gemstone.
I found a nice photo and tried to paint according to it. I used White Nights watercolors and Canson paper in a size A5. The work took one about hour.

What a great topic to paint, you captured so many beautiful colours in each facet. I am fascinated by this topic. I did an abstract version of this theme as an experiment. I worked on rice paper, then lacquered it.

I like the colors, the blendings and how you made the shadows and lights. I like watercolors too but I'm still practicing, I would like to paint like you.
You really caught the brillance of the gem. I love a piece like this like a macro photograph, when something small is blown up so large it has the beauty of abstraction. Well done and wonderful clear colours that 'sing' on the page, as my old watercolour teacher used to say :)
