The Mystery Man - an interactive painting + contest

in #art7 years ago

I'm looking for some interaction here: this is a painting originally titled "Mystery Man". But I would like to see you, Steemians, adding some more depth to this character (or improve on his mystery - either way's good!), by filling in the blanks on this mysterious one.

I will distribute the SBD this post gains among the most creative comments on this Mystery Man and his story, which you can write, right here!

"It was _____" (set a time, or date)

"The Mystery Man had just arrived from _____" (any place, existing or fictional)

"He felt _____" (an adjective is sufficient, but feel free to write some prose here!)

"Firmly holding his little suitcase, containing _____," (what's in the suitcase?)

", he approached _____. His job was done." (who did he approach?)

"Or was it?"

(I'll leave this open-ended: in case I get enough reactions, there may be a sequel to this, who knows?)

So, fill in the blanks in the comments! I'm looking for fun, creative, imaginative, and mysterious stories about this mysterious guy. I will divide the SBD among the relevant commenters - I reserve the right to combine entries and make a completely new story out of the suggestions.

Anything for a good mystery!

Thanks for reading, upvoting & commenting and following!

"It was after midnight"

"The Mystery Man had just arrived from a "quiet" ride with the wife"

"He felt exalted"

"Firmly holding his little suitcase, containing some of his wife's personal items"

", he approached the house. Ready to sleep a dead man's sleep. His job was done."

"Or was it?"

Now that's some mystery tale, right there - I'm seeing all kinds of stories in there. Dark and dreadful, maybe there is a sequel to it. Thanks man!

It was the time before the legends.

The Mystery Man had just arrived from the dimensional manifold.

He felt nauseated and confused

Firmly holding his little suitcase, containing everything he thought he was missing before, he approached himself.

His job was done.

Or was it?

No, it wasn't!

This was only the beginning... again!

Haha, awesome!

Looks like I'm going to have to do a sequel - which I'll gladly do!

Cool! Mad Libs for art!

"It was time.
The Mystery Man had just arrived from his shelter on other side of the fog.
He felt reticent, but determined.
Firmly holding his little suitcase containing capsules of instant flame, he approached the small patch of poison seedlings and engulfed them in a burst of fire.
His job was done.
Or was it??

Haha, that makes for an awesome, yet mysterious story, thanks @lenadr!

The more I read it, the more I'm chuckling out loud :D

Oooh sweet! I can't wait to read some more entries!

It was possible in ancient times "(set time or date)

"The mysterious man has just arrived from the Maghreb North Africa (any place, existent or fictional)

"He has the hair of his shoulders between his cheeks, even as the beard of his beard disguises the features and face" (adjective enough, but feel free to write some prose here!)

"Firmly holding his small bag, containing," (Manuscripts and Recipes)

", Approached the village has been done." (Who did not approach?
