Drawing using just horizontal lines - original office art by @mariandavp

Can you draw using just horizontal lines? That was my personal challenge during today's conference call.

After all I hate boredom. Not that I got bored of my work or my art. But I wouldn't like to repeat myself. It's nice to have a style, but one can never be sure of the right style unless he/she has experimented extensively.

So today I decided I would try something completely new, something I've never tried before. Usually, in my office art I use chaotic lines, effectively curves, to give form to my subject. If I wanted to make sure I won't end up doing the same thing again, what should I do? ...Straight lines? Horizontal felt more natural so I kicked off my call with that.

Also, I used a black pen instead of blue. Black is always a safe choise, when you don't really know what you want to achieve (and that applies to pretty much everything; clothes, cars, furnitures a.o.) Before I finish I threw some life in red -using straight lines again.
