RAFAEL ROMERO BARROS

Rafael Romero y Barros, great Spanish painter of the nineteenth century, (Moguer, May 30, 1832 - Córdoba, December 2, 1895). He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts in Seville, moving to Córdoba in 1862, to take over the post of curator, restorer of the Museum of Fine Arts of Cordoba.
He was father and teacher of the also painter Julio Romero de Torres.
Among his extensive and varied work are this splendid still life

Esta gran obra tuve la suerte de verla en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Córdoba.
Fue realizada al poco tiempo de instalarse en Córdoba, y lo consagraría como maestro, esta considerada como el mejor de sus bodegones.
