Review: The Twisted World of Junji Ito

The true master of horror stories has the ability to create the unique and twisted world with his mind just like H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe did. The kind of world that captures your imagination and draws you inside of it. One of such storytellers is definitely a Japanese horror manga artist Junji Ito.
His incredible dark imagination has the unique ability to make me uncomfortable in a whole new ways I never expected to feel. First he just captures my curiosity with loony and borderline comical elements of his story. Then some strange uncomfortable feeling keeps growing inside of me only to discover it doesn't go away once I am done reading. It somehow lingers on as if he is able to unlock something on an unconscious level making me feel just as if I was one of his characters.

I've managed to dig up quite a bit of his works (links are down below images) from around the web so if you're into this kind of stuff knock yourself out but don't say I didn't warn you :)

That artwork is amazing. I watched Uzumaki a long time ago and had no clue it was based on manga, possibly the neatest thing I have learned today, it's a great flick and now I definitely have interest in the book, thank you for these links.

Thank you, it cheers me up to see someone appreciates my post. This newbie posting for five views and one upvote can really bring a guy down.
