Another Game Update - Concept Art
I thought I would update everyone with more progress on the game I've making. This time, with something I'm a little more skilled at besides coding and game design. Concept art. So you have all seen the little guy with a gun walking around on my test level as the player character, well, here is the concept art for that character:
Here are the thumbnails for that:
Along with that, I started working on the first types of enemies the player will encounter. Since I'm nostalgic for the 80's, the game is made of pixel art, and the music will be very nostalgic of 80's electronic, I thought having a punk gang would be fitting.
Here are the thumbnails that helped me figure these guys out:
As far as environment, I've shared these concepts I made in the past but feel It's appropriate to share them again. I am going for a really vibrant background color scheme like these images I made here:
I did not make this music, obviously, but I have a friend that will help with it. I'm thinking the music will be a lot of stuff like this:
Hopefully I will have more videos of gameplay as I work on this sooner. Just wanted to share some artsy stuff that I'm working on.
Upvoted because cyberpunk and synthwave! Following.
Check out my latest post to see the game I'm working on all of this for in action.
Awsome art!
For me, video games have always been interesting not just for gameplay, but for everything happening behind the scenes especially how visual style shapes the whole experience. At some point I got curious enough to try working on a small project of my own, and that’s when I realized how important good 3D assets are. I ended up collaborating with a team that focuses on 3D modeling, just to see how a more structured pipeline works. What surprised me is that it felt less like outsourcing and more like working with developers. There were several steps involved discussing the idea, reviewing drafts, making adjustments, and then polishing everything so it fits the overall style. I came across them Game UX/UI and decided to give it a try. Their focus on 3D modeling was exactly what I needed.
