Greetings, Steemians!

I use drawing as a stress relief, and as a hobby with friends. You can let your mind fly, create your original characters, do whatever you want. Put your thoughts onto the page! I grew up drawing traditional, like many other artists do, but have mainly moved on to digital art, drawing on a Surface Pro 3 in ClipStudioPaint.

One of the reasons, as I talked about in my introductory post, that I had decided to join this community was to keep myself accountable for my many hobbies that I enjoy. Drawing is a big part of me, it's a way to express myself and my feelings. I have decided to go back to doing traditional art in addition to my digital. And so I will start doing daily sketches!

I am personally a big fan of Pokemon. I grew up with Silver as my first game, it had just been released and my first experience was playing through it in the hospital just before undergoing eye surgery (lazy eye when I was very young, but that's a story for another time!). I ended up working and purchasing my own Gameboy SP as a kid. I remember playing Silver version with friends as well as my cousins. It is a fond memory for me, and carries a lot of nostalgia.

I've taken this chance to do a daily sketch of a pokemon, once per day. Using a random number generator (from #1 to #802!), the result is the pokemon t0o draw. Today is #319, Sharpedo! This one is actually one of my favorites, and all the more reason to draw it! Off of appearance alone, it's a fearsome shark with razor sharp teeth and rough skin. Not to mention it's deathly fast and can shoot water currents!

She's an original character named Karssa that I created with a few friends of mine. Karssa is a mercenary who can manipulate and generate ice from her fingertips! I wanted to draw more of a realistic sketch of her as I normally draw anime type styles.

I am not particularly fond of how I drew her right shoulder and arm. But that's the beauty of practice! This will be my "starting point", and I will redraw this character and pose in the future as I improve in my skills.
