Original Art by Me - @LilyMars - Flowers in the Snow
Our winters here are long and cold, and we generally get a lot of snow. But winter is not all gloomy. When the temperatures go above freezing and the sun begins to linger longer before hiding in the horizons, little wonders come peeking through the snow.
I drew these several years ago from a memory of a snowshoe excursion. I did not walk over them, but gave them a wide berth, taking home just the memory so they could come back another year.
When we venture past the bounds of our homes, it is easy to forget that we should leave only the smallest trace of our presence. It is better to observe beauty and leave it, than it is to try to possess it. Harm none that are living. Take no material that is necessary for food or shelter. Bring back only the memory if you can and work your art with that.
