Introduction to wine-making in the Czech Republic: wine cellars in Petrov
I live in a wine-making region, where everyone has enough wine. So for today I wanna share with you some photos from the Village Memorial Reservation Petrov - Plže. It´s a collection of wine cellars above the village of Petrov that is very close to my home. It is located about 4 km southeast of Strážnice and 14 km from Hodonín in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.
This unique and and very beautiful complex is one of the oldest buildings of folk architecture in the Czech Republic.
There are about 80 wine cellars built around the 15th century. The cellars were built by wine-growers themselves. The wine cellars create a street-level building with two squares.
The resort is popular with tourists and there is plenty of cultural events during all the year.

Detail of the day: The facades of some cellars are plastered with a simple but beautiful combination of white and blue colors, others are decorated with colorful ornaments.
