The Explorer

Breaking through the comfortable bubble, what will they see?

We all have a bubble that we live in. Inside that bubble, you have the things that you know, things that you love, and things that you are comfortable with and like having around. Sometimes, it gets too comfortable and you are not willing to go out of it anymore - acknowledging that this bubble is all you need, everything inside is wonderful and it's a paradise. Afterwards, you stop learning things outside the bubble, leaving out other facts and truths, doesn't know they exist, but stay ignorant of it.

Popping it by yourself and going out of it to experience what things actually are, is painful. They are most of the times out of expectations and can be drastically different from the world you knew and love - the bubble. It may be harsh to learn and accept the differences, but they are indeed there, and it's up to you to learn about it or not.

Maybe the explorers will enjoy what they find, maybe they will regret their first step.

Would you choose to...?

I still somehow remember the day someone first told me about his family issues, issues with friends, his and his friends' psychological issues.

My world is a very simple one. It just happens to be that simple - little to no issues. These things had always been so far from me and I almost never thought that they exist - they were like fiction until he told me about his experiences. Out of a sudden, they feel so real, just like what that could happen to anyone, just like what that could happen to me. Or, someone walking past me in the hallway, someone queuing in front of me at the food stall, someone driving on the road, someone staring at the sky in the night, and someone that should be sleeping right now, but is still awake like I am.

That's the first time my bubble got popped.

It is disturbing, but after calming down it is still true that I have to acknowledge that the world is not as it seems. There is always so little that one could see.

Learning things outside of what you are comfortable with can be painful, but it will also give you a clearer picture of the world around, and - hopefully - make you appreciate what is left, and have the strength to make decisions to change things for the better.

I've stepped out. There's only so little one can know about in a lifetime - but what can be done can have unlimited impact. They say that one have unlimited potential, who knows?

This is an original artwork I made in MS Paint and may be reused with citation by anyone in any place. With proper scaling settings (hint: with Lanczos resampling) you should be able to scale the untouched image above to any size you want without noticeable quality loss due to how MS Paint draws. That's also why the image looks rough, MS Paint does not really put effort in making brush strokes smooth. You can still see the pixels after zooming in :)

Clicking on the image will link you to an upscaled version of the image with a height of 2160 pixels, so it will be ready for almost any usage.

That's all for now, hope you liked what I did and see you next time :)
