Listen and Be Inspired While You Work - Andrew Tischler and Cesar Santos Podcast

in #art6 years ago

Do you want some inspiration to fire you up while you work on your artwork? Have a listen to this interview that Andrew Tischler did with Cesar Santos. Both are well known artists who also have their own YouTube channels where they give you insights into their practice and techniques.

In this interview Andrew asks some very interesting questions about how Cesar build his career up and how he manages the business side of his work.

This sort of information is gold, because if ever you find yourself wondering if you are doing things right with your art practice or if there is more you could be doing, then insights like this could be just the kick in the pants that you need.

Andrew is an American who emigrated to Australia and studied Art in Perth. He started his career at age 21 and has been building it up since then. He mostly focuses on landscape painting but also paints portraits from time to time. He eventually relocated to the dramatically beautiful South Island of New Zealand (think Lord of the Rings ) with his wife, where he finds no shortage of inspiration.

Cesar was born in Cuba, but his parents made the most of the open door policy during the Regan era and took their son with them to the USA to give him a better future. Typical for many immigrant families, his parents worked hard to set their children up in life. Their reaction certainly was not enthusiastic when he told them he wanted to be an artist. Having this background pushed him very early on to treat a career in art as a serious job. He was ultimately frustrated with his art education in university which led him to seek out classical training in the Angel Academy in Florence.

Hello @leoplaw, thank you for sharing this creative work! We just stopped by to say that you've been upvoted by the @creativecrypto magazine. The Creative Crypto is all about art on the blockchain and learning from creatives like you. Looking forward to crossing paths again soon. Steem on!

I have to do such either before or after - can't have anything in my studio (not music either), because I get so involved in my work, you could shoot canons and I won't notice.

I sometimes get to a point in my work where I have to have silence because everything else is too distracting and I'm simply just not getting my work done.
