Golden Light
You can be almost certain that if you don't hear from me on Steemit, I'm busy in the studio producing new artwork. I did have some post ideas I wanted to write up, but that meant breaking my rhythm of progress with this painting. It had started off at a cracking pace, however, as the nearer I reached the "end", the more tiny corners of colour I had to attend to.
Normally I try not get lost in the details, however with this image, it is just precisely these little flourishes of colour that bring it to life.
The Sun is shinning outside. I intend to go and make the most of it before the season changes. Catch you all soon.
Steem on!

I love the light.
Cheers @lindiry!
Golden light indeed! The luminosity of her skin and the gradation of light to shadow on her arm is breath taking.
Have fun outside, you've earned it :)
Don't you love that feeling when you finish your task of the moment/day and you are free to indulge your leisure afterwards? Nothing like it. It makes the "free-time" all the more sweet.
Thank you Donna!
It's taken me some time to develop some discipline with my art creation. I'm now working on the work life balance. This year I have been discovering just how important time off is me as well as how it benefits productivity.
You're right about how a decent day's work makes playtime more sweet. =)
That's why the balance that works for me is taking the day into work/online/unplug freetime. It seems to make me feel good for doing and even freer when my 'reward time' arrives each day :) It's all about balance :)
I'm still learning... I feel like a juggler or acrobat. =)
This drips with sensuality. I hope everyone has experienced the beach in that that light at least once. Anyone who has seen it after a day of swimming knows the relaxed pleasant languor of your subject. The contrast between the soft feminine form and rough rocks is quite pleasing too.
Oh, I know that light well. I have spent many an evening soaking that golden light. It is so transient, yet, when you're there, it feels eternal.
MMmm, feeling sun warm on this one so good @leoplaw.
Thank you Dunja!
wow! It has come a long way. She's a beauty.
Cheers @nuthman!
The initial phases of the painting always require a certain amount of faith. Only experience can teach that.
Makes perfect sense to me. I envy your skill for sure. I have always had an aptitude for art but am too lazy to put in the effort. I suppose that's why I like to post my wife's work! Living vicariously. haha
Like you said, it's all about putting in the effort. It took me a few years to figure it out.
Such a beautiful piece <3 The lighting is golden and warm and very sensual <3 Wonderful painting !!!
Thank you @veryspider!
Wow, fantastic work. Upvoted.
Thank you @offgridlife!
WOW. it suits the model of these fiery colors.
what a fascinating technique. I congratulate you heartily!
Thank you @artizm. The colours were that challenge I wanted to achieve.
Eye-candy painting, lol.
I might give steemit a rest for a while also - I had neglected my studio work while stuck on social networks. Doesn't make sense really, chasing a few bucks worth of steem when I could produce a painting worth thousands instead.
Yes, doing the maths certainly gives you some focus on the important things.
Hi Leo. Great to see everybody on this new more decentralized platform. I hope all is well. Bonny
Hi Bonny!
There's a few of us here, but many people still don't get it. But not to matter, new ideas can require time to take root.
