My first College Art Project
Good evening everyone! I am just getting ready to go to bed but first I wanted to share with you my very first college art project for my 2D design class!
This one was a lot of fun to draw. I know I say that about most of the drawings I get to do but it's nice to do some traditional art for a change. My professor gave us creative freedom to mess around with some ideas and lines and shapes and this is what I came up with. A sort of dreamscape vs reality kind of piece. I wanted to give it some symmetry and those lovely geometrical shapes along with a little whimsy and fun.
It started off with a little sketch in my drawing pad as I was trying to plan the layout.
And then I sketched it out and put down some ink on a 19x24 sheet of bristol board which is honestly the largest piece of paper I've ever had to work with. Lol.
And then I used micron pens and india ink with a paintbrush to fill in all the different spaces. My OCD hates parts of it because the colouring isn't even in some places but I suppose it's not bad for my first go using India Ink like that. I want it to be perfect but alas I cannot achieve perfection on the first try. Lol.
What do you think?! :D
Until next time!

I love it. I can't wait for you to turn this in so we can take the original linework to a tattoo artist and put it on my back. Full color baby!
