Life Drawing with a story of recovery.

It had been a whole year since I last drew Miss Olivia. I was happy to see her confidence in her own body had returned. Last year during fall I had drawn her 3 times and each time her battle with breast cancer had left her not just physically scarred but emotionally. Durring each session she covered her scar with medical tape and found clever ways to hide her missing breast.

But this fall she retruned, turning her survivors scar into a work or art. A young blossom with twisting vines and leaves now blooms out of an old scar. I am greatful I was able to draw her durring this process of recovery. Many of the artists who knew her could tell with the advent of the new tattoo had helped return much of her pride.
