Experimenting With a New Medium
I can't remember where I was first exposed to Posca markers, probably Tumblr or Instagram, but I remember that as soon as I discovered them I was instantly intrigued. It took me a bit to buy them, but last week I finally purchased a pack and immediately got down to doodling.
This drawing is sort of an amalgamation of different regional Italian folk costumes. I think they're so pretty so it's something I often turn to whenever I'm in need of a subject matter to draw.
I only have 7 pastel colors, so it's been kind of fun coming up with drawings with such a limited color palette. Oddly enough, I find them very soothing to work with. Maybe because I don't have to worry about blending or choosing between a million colors, I can kind of turn my brain off and just doodle. I really enjoy gouache like finish the markers give (gouache being another medium I've always been curious to work with).
If you have a couple of bucks to spare and feel like trying a new medium, I highly suggest buying some.

And... they are lightfast so they are good when making original artworks that has to last. I have mainly used posca pens for black and white drawings, but it looks fine with the colouring on your drawing. I really like it - it reminds me of King Ottokar's Sceptre by Herge.
I kind of want to buy some white shoes so I can do some cool sneaker art XD I know I'm like ten years late to the game, but I'm so glad I found out about these markers. I'm having so much fun with them.
Can't be late with a thing like markers. They are evergreens.
This is so lovely, @la-fumettista ! The pattern on the apron is my favourite bits but I love the entire style <3 the blue of the dress is so wonderful <3 Gorgeous work <3 Please do more in this style :D :D :D
Thank you! The dress always have such pretty intricate designs, I love em.
Wow, the colours look digital even if you painted it in real! So flat and polished looking, I am surprised :o. The drawing is lovely, I love how simplistic you created the drawing, but the lines convey a lot of feelings and expression. Nicely done, Theresa :).
The colors come out so perfect! I've been experimenting a lot more with them now and I honestly am obsessed XD
This looks like something worth trying, love how nice color cover they have, almost looks like a print material. Thanks for sharing, adding them to my wish list @la-fumettista :)
I totally recommend it! They're so nice to work with.
I love the colours and flat purity of these. This would be an amazing image on vintage style kitchen cannisters or fabrics! LOVE.
