The Artists Creed

She was lamenting on a comment made by another on a piece she did. My reply to her was;

"I get thumbs down on some YouTube videos before there are views... and that sums up social media. Do what you will, as you will, without regard of other opinions... part of the artist creed. By the way I think it's cool..to me your art is unique and that is also a part of the artist code."

The Intuitive

Seriously the Artist, yes is of course sensitive to peoples thoughts and even acceptance. However the artistic is also an intuitive that knows the true path for them is off the beaten path. They see things so differently than a main-streamer or now a programmed soul. Even when they take part in what society, friends, work environment events... they step out to the side to see what is going on from their perspective.

They painstakingly document their intuitions, visions, emotions and creative journey from the ordinary to their own bloomed conceptions. Relentless in this pursuit they can become ostracized or even self removed from the norms. And whereas most use imitation to fit in, the Artist can not... they must show their interpretations, intuitions and the other path that is not only possible, but more the way of nature.

The Singularity

But there is something far deeper inside a true artist and that is their insatiable desire to be unique in their expression. The Artist understand the dynamic of nature on a different level... and while others focus is on their immediate surroundings, people or life in that same space, the artist sees what is outside that circle, they see more as their creative soul warrants. It is in that space singularity or unique intuitive position they live, breath and share... some are shunned, some are bullied, some are thought mad or different. We should (and many times do) celebrate that intuition, creativity, unique vision and journey.

But the artist must be patient and revel in that uniqueness or singularity as the others will not realize it until they all do as a collective, being that imitation and consensus is THEIR creed. The artist must also accept that, even though it is a difficult position, it is just as difficult for those on the other side.
