LIFE Doesn’t Frighten Me

I created this paper cutting art because I think life is still beautiful even though we are surrounded by many issues. The lady closes her eyes and is thinking about her life. The tree on her neck is her original element, which is always inside of her. She looks back on her life and she thinks ‘her life is not bad.’

この切り絵を作ったのは、様々な問題に取り囲まれている私たちの人生ですが、それでもやっぱり美しいと思ったからです。この女性は目を閉じて、彼女の人生に思いを馳せています。首の木は、彼女の中にいつもある生まれながらの要素です。彼女は自分の人生を振り返り、「私の人生悪くないわね」と思っています。

Maya Angelou was an American poet, singer, memoirist and civil rights activist. Her poems are so gentle and powerful. I like her voice. One of my favorite books is called “LIFE Doesn’t Frighten ME.” This is a beautiful book with Jean-Michel Basquiat’s awesome paintings.

マヤ・アンジェロウはアメリカの詩人、歌手、回顧録者であり活動家です。彼女の詩は優しく力強いです。私は彼女の声が好きです。『LIFE Doesn’t Frighten ME』という彼女の本は、私のお気に入りの一冊です。ジャン＝ミシェル・バスキアのすばらしい挿絵の入った美しい本です。
