ART: As a Form of BLESSING and How We Share it #2 A Pledge to Help
Generosity is a practical expression of love.
This is Perry Lequigan. A former member of a particular art group in Davao City Philippines. It is his advocacy for 15yrs to conduct Free Artworkshops for kids, he conducts his workshops at Rizal Park gathering as much kids as he can on the stage. I personally joined his advocacy and everytime we gather art materials we conduct free workshop right away and we even do street art workshop. Lately, we've been reaching out to every municipality. But the common problem is we couldn't sustain much kids since we provide materials using our own pocket money. Nowadays we are trying to tap our friends to do sponsorship even just for art materials, each kid will cost $3 (150pesos) to cover their art materials and food and municipality provides the venue.
The group already reached out to far communities. Went to Mati city after the typhoon Pablo hit the city to divert young ones attention towards positivity.
The group also reached out to Tagum City and conducted art workshop to 50 drug surrenderees.
What is this workshop all about?
This group of artists (no particular name yet) aim to gather as much people as we could to conduct art workshop and help children as much as we could.
What good does it give?
The group aims to:
- Bring out the talent in them
- Help them develop the thing that they are good at
- Stray them away from the dangers of life particularly drug related dangers
- Divert their attention from negative things in life like anxiety and other related issues
- Let them experience the beauty of art
- And so much more.
When and where is the next workshop?
This years target is to conduct artworkshop atleast twice a month. The next art workshop will be on February 10 @ Brgy.11b. A group of dancers pledged to have a Zumba Fitness for A(rt) cause and targeting 50+ kids.
What does the group needs?
The group basically needs art materials for these kids. I @kennik pledged that when this post pays out then I will dedicate all the amount towards providing art materials and even for their meals to enjoy.
Among the group, I am the only one connected to steemit. Hoping we could gather enough for the next art workshop.
Basically I myself dont ask for anything when it comes giving back the blessings I have. This time it is bigger and I myself needs to have a bigfer step towards conducting this activity.

That person is not computer literate and doesnt spend much time online but i will try my best to bring him to this platform

I always wanted to do a free art workshop for the street children around Cavite and Manila too but I got no funds . But upon reading this I got more inspiration to push that advocacy.
