Sejd
Sejd is the Danish word for the religious magic of the ancient Scandinavians – Seiðr in old Norse – often performed by women as it was considered shameful for men. The male God Odin was none the less the most important deity when it came to Sejd - having gone through quite some ordeals to acquire the arts of magic.
The drawing is made with the open source painting application Krita on a Wacom Cintiq (as is most of my drawings including my comic). I will publish it soon in high resolution on my Diaspora profile, which is the place you can find all my CC-by artworks.

Very cool!
I was instantly inspired to do a small collaborative piece ;-)
If the sun is behind, why is the shade on the left? 😈
Is it because it's "magic"?
Exactly, it's pure magic (called "draft") 😎💥
Haha, great. That big, black surface is perfect to key on. I did actually think about filling out the surface with magic or snow or clouds or something like that, and it does work quite well I can see now!
Yes :-) I'm glad that you left it black, otherwise I wouldn't have thought about filling it.
very nice drawing and very interesting post!
