I have always been fascinated by the greats artists of the east. And I am not alone. In the late 19th - early 20th century the artists flocked to this new and exotic phenomenon. So this little piece of procrastination has probably more to do with German Expressionism than with masters like Bada Shanren (八大山人) (how dare I even mention him? :)

I have also always been fascinated with the logograph Chinese writing, so here I combine the two - making a use of a sign meaning: Sea.

海

I might do some more as this one was both fun and challenging. Digital images are so very different from the media of brush and paper, introducing a certain ugliness - like white noise on audio, but somehow I also like to work with that ugliness.
