Andy Warhol's "first selfie" goes on sale
The chart of Andy Warhol, made in 1963, at the age of 35, using photographs taken in a photo shop in a cheap shop in New York, is seen as the pioneer of "selfie" cultures.
Emma Baker, an expert at the auction house speaking to the British Newspaper, describes Warhol's portrait as "the first selfie" and says, "This is the moment when Warhol was born as an icon."
The painting made with acrylic and silk screen was sold to a special collector in 1985 and did not change after that day. The auction will take place on June 28th.
