When small band gets together to play after 30 years

A few years ago, our gig band had a "reunion". We had spent 10 years together and disbanded in 1970. It was hard work with many days of the week finding a bleary-eyed group coming home after travelling all night from a gig somewhere in the Eastern Cape area of South Africa.

In February 2011, some 30years after disbanding, we got together to simply have a "Jam". We were rusty and made mistakes but had great fun that day. My two sons had never heard our band and they can be seen in the beginning of the snippet.
Forgive the quality of the video and the OLD tunes we played but hopefully you get a taste of the enjoyment that was had.

It was all designed as a dedication and a comfort for a band member, Bill, then suffering from cancer. Bill can be seen with the black cap, just enjoying singing along. He has since passed away and we miss him.

Our lead singer, Derek and his wife, Linda, on keyboards still play at venues around the Western Cape. Derek also plays in shows for a comedy showband in South Africa, called The Bats. The original band have been playing since 1963! There repertoire consists of oldies and the whole act takes the mickey out of their advancing age.

The bass player, Mike, is still proficient in spite of his age. I am on the drums borrowed from The Bats.
