*Only God can make a tree*
My friend is a great photographer artist, his name is Lazar Lekovic and you can check some of his work here
http://fotorepublika.com/lazar/Experimental
Several years ago Lazar made great exhibition of his pinhole photographs. Seeing his trees done in pinhole technique gave me idea to suggest him exhibition were we would present our art together, photography and watercolor . We were already doing same subject of forest and trees.
So we made it, and we were very satisfied how it all turned out.
We were also thinking about text that will go for audience and he came out with great idea.
Poem of Joyce Kilmer- Tress, it was only text we had printed in katalogue,and it was jack point.
Trees
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
B&W was real challenge to me but I was satisfied at the end.
larger formats
this was first time i started adding silver watercolor to my work
mixture of watercolor and ink/ used lot of masking fluid to make branches
smaller formats
And we had made one work together.
First Lazar made his photography and printed it on Fabriano watercolor paper so I could paint some parts on my own in watercolor.
We called it
-Fading tree-
Hope you will like this walk in the past and check work of my friend.
Nice, I like it! Especially the last one!
thank you @dutchlife, last one was star of the exhibition by many opinions :) Glass is making reflexion here so it can not be seen nicely.
Super nice, the last one! A real masterpiece! Have you done any tree-painting tutorial? I'd love to see one - I'm trying to learn how to paint them and there are various problems - how to make them come alive (not so stiff), how to paint loads of branches or leaves in a fast way, and so on - you know them ;) Maybe we should set a date and try to make one tutorial each to that day and present some of our tips?
thank you @jnart :) As regarding tutorials, I made something here https://steemit.com/art/@jungwatercolor/watercolor-step-by-step-without-drawing, but I'm not sure if that's what you have thought?
I would love to do tutorials, but I must tell you there is no fast way of doing branches :) They need time, if you like delicate one to make.
But off course I could make some new tutorials as soon time allows me. And your idea for making it at exact day I like a lot, just first I have to make some to have material for representing. Open to all ideas :)
Thank you! Will can save the idea and gather some material. Yeah, the one you showed was useful!
ok, we will make something sure :)
