My Shadow City /// Animated gif art for Whisper Gallery
I was contacted by @mrblinddraw to take part in his whisper gallery, if you haven't heard of the concept it's like a game of telephone between artists. The first artist gets a seed idea and creates a piece of art and then each following artist is inspired by the previous artists work.
@artistchristian was ahead of me and created this:
I took the panther as my inspiration and decided to do a distorted chimera version. Through some photoshop collage and digital painting I created this beast:
Now onto the background and what it all represents for me. I wanted to make a more sinister shadow version of the panther to represent the shadow self, and in the background I reflected that with the upright city and the shadow city that is much more vaporous and indistinct.
Next I created some variations of the final piece and made some gif art!
I think this was a super idea for a project, I had a great time working on it and I am excited to see what my art inspires and what whispers the following artist will hear!
I am left completely speechless !! All i'm thinking of right now is "Legendary pieces of work".|

A bird with a panther's head looks interesting. I like it.
I really like the watercolor effect in the painting and the "Japanese" effect (maybe it's just me hahaha). And it's even better that you put those lights in the final picture. 😅
Btw really original by making that chimera head on the bird 👌🏼 really liked that too.

I love this, very trippy and surreal. I love these collabs, but I feel out of the loop lately, maybe it's losing power twice over the past two weeks and getting out of the comment cycle. I'd love to be a part of this, but I still can't figure out how to, either I'm too dense to see it or it's by invite only.
I love the illustrative cityscape of this too.

This is great! I'm the next person in line for the Whisper gallery, so I'm excited to start my response to your piece.
What program did you use to draw the background? I really like the city.
