Villages of Asturias, Spain: Bueño

in #art6 years ago

Its origins, like that of the vaqueiros, are uncertain; they hide behind that enigmatic veil of Isis in which the Theosophists pretend to glimpse a universal cosmogony very different from the cold and rational vision that academicists have sold us, and to which all orphans of every age and place end up, conforming incomplete chapters, related to different cultures and civilizations.

I mean, as you may have guessed, History. And in some secluded corner of this, of course, to the granaries.

In a certain way, we should not be surprised that relevant men, regardless of the time and their circumstances, talked about them and even made them participate in metaphysical miracles, asking, at least, questions about their origins and characteristics.

One of such men, was the sovereign Alfonso X, not in vain nicknamed the Sage, who already sniffed the hórreo to illustrate the miracle of Cantiga number 187. Another, more current and illustrious Gijón by birth, was Jovellanos.

Concerning these emblematic buildings, in Bueño there was a successful initiative: to create a museum of the hórreo, taking advantage of the numerous specimens that, in relatively good state of conservation, entails that it is qualified as the town of the granaries.

An initiative that, by the circumstances that were, was left in the water of bore, preventing, in part, that the stranger and the curious that are dropped there do not come to assume and know more deeply, the history - or rather , the pseudo history - and the peculiarities of such singular elements so closely linked to the Asturian culture and way of life.

Given that no place is perfect, at present the specter of expropriation hangs over some properties of the municipality, located on the hillside. The reason, in this case, is the expansion of the nearby quarry.

A quarry that may have been exploited for centuries and whose stone is part of the most representative religious monuments in the surroundings, including the capital, Oviedo.

Of course, the small space enabled for parking is only for the exclusive use of bar customers.
