RE: Motorcycle Travel Series by @velimir 'An old man and a monster' (Part #690)
A beautiful painting, no doubt. It is a pagan representation, not a Christian one, I suppose it dates back to medieval times, although with Greco-Latin influence; it is possible that it responds to a European folk tale of that time. It is very well preserved.
First of all, I see in the background a certain similarity with oriental painting (especially Chinese). Then, the composition is very interesting, because it mixes three essential mythical elements: the paradisiacal tree, the monk, poet or saint, and the monster, which is perhaps a version of cancerbero, although it has something of a chimera or griffin (one would have to consult a dictionary of fantastic bestiary). Interesting detail of the red color of the flowers of the tree and footwear of the human character. Thank you, @velimir.
