Hot Dragon Teapot
I made this drawing of a teapot shaped like a dragon originally in pencil and this week I finally colored it. The art is very loosely based off of a real artifact I saw in the Philippines at a museum. With this original artifact, I imagine that in the olden days, this teapot was used to help people practice hospitality by making the act of hosting people in their homes more special.
That action--to practice hospitality--is something we should do today too! I also believe that the ancient people who used this vessel got a pleasant sense of enjoyment out of pouring steaming hot tea from the mouth of a dragon. Actually, that would be a pleasant thing to experience today as well.
